I started this blog, “Sharing It Forward”, for two main reasons. To create a community of learning and a community of support for fellow artists and photographers. Part of supporting one another is having someone point out where you can make improvements and help to keep you on your journey of improving in your craft. Anyone who has ever put their ideas “out there” will tell you, having a thoughtful, supportive colleague who will be honest with you AND deliver that honesty with compassion, understanding and knowledge is pure gold. There are “others” however, who will jump in with their opinions as well. “They” are honest. But thoughtful, compassionate and knowledgeable they are not, and they are certainly not your friend. You know who I’m referring to. People who don’t know anything about your craft yet feel qualified to tear your work to shreds and beat the stuffin’ out of your self-esteem. You then begin to think… “What if what they are saying is true? What if I am delusional in thinking can do this?”… Well… I can’t say it any better than this gal. I’ll quit talking now and let her take it from here… You won’t regret taking 20 minutes of your time to listen to this. I promise.
Keep learning and keep #SharingItForward,
Caroline
