One of the best tools you can use solve “compositing problems” are specialized brushes. A lot of times, when artists are first learning Photoshop they tend to stick with the standard round brush. Which can be SO frustrating. One of the tricks to mastering compositing is learning about the world of specialized brushes. If you are still using the little round brush that is standard with Photoshop then this post is going to open up a whole new world for you. These magical things have saved my rear more times than I can count. You will love them!
Specialized brushes are really great for solving common compositing problems. For example, you can add more “blades of grass” over your models feel just by using a simple “grass blades” brush and the clone stamp tool. I recently had a problem where I had power lines running across my tree line in one of my portraits and I used a leaf shaped brush and the clone stamp tool to cover them up. It worked perfectly!
I am always on the look out for great brushes and there are TONS of them for free across the world wide web. I ran across this awesome download and knew I had to share it forward. This set is by disignrfix.com and it is “60 Must Have Free Photoshop Brushes”. There are some really great cloud brushes in here.
I have one more post I plan on sharing and that will finish off the “Creating Shadows” blog series. Tomorrow is Free Stock Saturday!
Keep learning and keep #SharingItForward!
