Many of us have experienced what I have dubbed, “The Lull”. The “temporary interval of quiet or lack of activity” of your creative self… We don’t know really, why it happens but at some point we all deal with it. The good news? By definition “The Lull” is a temporary thing.
The best method for overcoming “The Lull”? Take a swan-dive right in the middle of someone else’s creative mind.
Periodically, I like to curl up with my laptop and concept journal and go swimming in a creative sea. I always find inspiration were artists congregate. One of my favorite places to swim is the site named Artists Inspire Artists. Any time you see “Finding Inspiration” in my blog title, get your notepad and goggles, because were about going swimming… Today I was padding around and came across an amazing artist name “Kidy-Kat”. First of all, her name is brilliant and catchy. (Hmm… I made note of that in my concept journal… marketing idea right there… ) Her real name is Kate Murmuri. As I starting browsing her work, I was struck by her ability to take ordinary life occurrences and build a whole new world around them. I think you will enjoy wading around in Kidy-Kat’s creative mind. Make sure you have your journal handy… there is a well-spring of ideas here. Thank you Kidy-Kat, for being our artistic inspiration!
