Location. Location. Location. Locations play a huge role in conceptual portraiture. The setting for the concept is integral to the story. I’ve had quite a few story images that, had I not had the perfect location, the story would have fallen flat on its face. Any photographer who has tried scouting locations will tell you, scouting takes a LOT of time. Taking that time may not be ideal when under a client deadline and a lot of times you won’t have anything in the area that will even work. For example, if you live in Tennessee you obviously won’t have access to a beach. For situations like these stock images are golden. Any time I go on a trip I spend a little time shooting locations to keep in my stock library. On this particular trip I was looking for wooded areas that were groomed and clear of bushes, briars and brambles. The following stock was captured on that stock excursion. You can click on the image below and it will take you to my stock library. As always, these images are free to use with no restrictions and they all are creative commons attribution licensed. That means you can use them for commercial and non-commercial projects. I only ask that you not take them and sell them as your own stock.
